Encapsulating the beauty of traditions, Julius and Kathleen celebrated their union at The Saujana Kuala Lumpur. Kathleen came from Hong Kong and had decided to move to Malaysia, for reason no other than love. Lanterns and red candles have been incorporated into the wedding decorations to reflect the couple’s oriental origins.
Red lanterns are known to symbolize a booming life and prosperity, the decorating team has chosen to adorn the wedding hall with red lanterns and crystals to reflect the greetings and wishes.
Like many other beautiful and meaningful rituals brought down by the ancestors, Chinese brides are normally ushered out of their homes under a big red umbrella. This is to protect brides from evil spirits when departing. True to tradition, Kathy was sheltered with a red umbrella as she makes her way from her home to the wedding carriage.
Julius told Kathy affectionately in mandarin: “谢谢你从香港远嫁马来西亚。我答应你,自今日起,你来避风、我来当港。”, which translates to: Thank you for coming all the way from Hong Kong to marry me. From today onwards, you will be protected under my shelter, and I will be your bay of happiness.
Julius and Kathy: “Thanks Evan and team for being the person to bring our wedding dream comes true. All of our guests, not only the locals but also families from Hong Kong and friends who flying in from every part of the world have had a wonderful time in sharing our happiness and those ‘awww’ moments together. We couldn’t find any way to express how much we appreciate your hard work, but we really want to thank you for your help in creating unforgettable memories that will last a lifetime.”
Afterthoughts from Precious Moments Team:
It always warms our hearts when we are able to incorporate traditional rituals with modern wedding celebrations. Incorporating modern decorations with the elegance of oriental touch, the wedding became unique for the couple, especially when the bride and groom have different origins.
