What To Expect At A Pre-Wedding Photo Shoot?
Counting down to the big day yet at the same time so much to do? Well, it’s part of the excitement and joy of preparing for your wedding day. One experience a couple would not normally forgo is the pre-wedding photoshoot! Looking forward to it but worried the end product will not meet your expectation? Our wedding planner, Evan Chee shares her experience on what couples should expect and prepare for a photoshoot, and how to enjoy the seemingly exhausting ordeal for a rewarding outcome.
Do Feel Like A Superstar
…literally. You will be attended to from head to toe, from your hair do, to the fitting of your gowns and the color of your toenails. The makeup artist and coordinators pride themselves to make you fabulous and more importantly, taking care of all tiny details to ensure you look fantastically photogenic.
Allow Your Photographer To Take Charge
After all, he/she is the key (and button) to your wedding photo album – a memento you’ll keep and admire for a long time. The professional shutter would know which angle that will bring out your best even if you don’t feel so. Go ahead and be his/her puppet for a day and enjoy a long lasting outcome.
Expect A Long Day
No sugarcoating here – you will start before dawn and most probably only be able to call it a day late into the evening. Do prepare enough drinking water, power bank for the phones and maybe even a handheld electrical fan if you’ve chosen an outdoor location as backdrop. Yes, it’s going to be tiresome but it will definitely be worthwhile.
Do Research On The Shooting Location
Take a drive out a day or two before the actual photoshoot and see how your happily-ever-after backdrop will be. Apart from understanding the environment so you can prepare for the long day, but it is also a good opportunity to generate some ideals that you can convey to your photographer. Tell him/her your wishes and let the professional do the magic based on your aspiration. Another important aspect is to ensure you’ve acquired all necessary licenses or permissions for the location you will be using.
Be Patient
Given the technology we have in today’s world, the photos snapped on the actual day often requires digital processing to achieve the desired finished looks. So, do look at your raw shots with a pinch of salt and have faith in your photographer and his graphic team to add the golden touches for your photo album.
The list could go on but I think the best advice is to engage yourselves with an open mind and enjoy the process. It is inevitable that the shooting exercise will be physically taxing, but it is also a great occasion to create memories with your other half, bond in a unique way and of course, produce visual showcase of your love for the lifetime to come as husband and wife.
